Kno Release New Product

A company named Kno, Inc. has introduced its flagship product, simply dubbed the Kno. The device is two large 14-inch touchscreens conneced by a hinge that specifically targets the education sector.

Beforehand we chimed the Dell Streak for being a bit on the small side, but the Kno tablet looks to suffer from the foreign problem. Introduced at D8, the Kno weighs in at 5.5 pounds and more than an inch thick, explanation it commensurable to a laptop but with two screens instead of a screen and keyboard.

The company alludes to the device as a “digital textbook platform” and has befriended together with publishing offices Cengage Learning, McGraw-Hill, Pearson and Wiley to make content for the Kno in a beta program that will start up at major U.S. seat of learnings and universities this autumn.

Founded on Linux (Linux), the Kno also offers support for Adobe Flash — a hot topic soon since that’s something the iPad does not include. Developers are pushed to participate in building out a third-party app store for the device.

As for pricing, all we realize is that it will be “under $1000,” which already sounds very expensive. Examine a demo video of the Kno and a few more screenshots below, then let us realize what you think: Would students be extracted in picking up a device like this? If so, would it be in place of or in accretion to a laptop or desktop?
