Review: Robot Fish with Solid Fuel-Polymer Fuel Cell

Review: Robot Fish with Solid Fuel-Polymer Fuel Cell

This robot fish is neither the first of its type, yet it is certainly one of the most impressive out there (given, not too many of these really there). Be expanded by the Faculty of Engineering at Osaka City University, the unnamed robot fish could budge extremely realistically as well as has a key selling dot: It could be powered by a solid-polymer fuel cell nicknamed “Power Tube”.

The fish, which has a length of 10 cm this, able not only swim in around yet also can dive as well as moving upward, thanks to a together at the front end. The developers first time makes use of a motor but scrapped that idea then when they understand out power consumption stood at 1W.

A magnet system then did the trick, encouraging down that numbers to just 10 milliwatts. The purpose final is to develop the robot fish that is can to swim for three consecutive days on a single cost.

Purpose of this robot making is for be used rescue work as well as maritime research in the future.

Below is a video showing a robot fish – as well as other impressive model – in action:
