Samsung’s Galaxy S Android-powered smartphone is slowly becoming one of the most demanded device on the Korean market. Launched back in June, the phone has appealed to a wide range of buyers, and managed to reach 100,000 units sold during its first 6-days of its availability. Furthermore, it seems that the Samsung Galaxy S maintained momentum, as yesterday the phone was managed to reach 300,000 units sold.
The high-end Galaxy S was reportedly beyond 300,000 sold mark in South Korea in just 19 days after its official launch. The phone is available in South Korea on the airwaves of SK Telecom, and apparently set to prove a real winner. Samsung also released it in other markets worldwide too, but declined to leave a comment on the worldwide sales figures outside South Korea.
If Galaxy S is now considered as the hottest Android-powered smartphone at this moment, then it will become even more hot next month, as Samsung was planning an software upgrade for the phone. Right, Galaxy S is scheduled for Android 2.2 Froyo update in August. However, it seems that only the Korean owners to get the update, Galaxy S users across the world have to wait a bit longer to the update. Unfortunately there is no details on its plans for Android 2.2 Froyo update in other markets has been unveiled yet, though it is predicted to do so in the near future.
We’re really expecting that the international market will also be able to get the Android 2.2 update in due time, preferably before this year is over.
